Friends of Thai Daughters, Trevett, Maine ( Foundation located in the US), Summer 2023

https://friendsofthaidaughters.org/

Ethnic minority girls growing up in hill tribe villages in Thailand face significant risks of becoming victims of human trafficking, child marriage, abuse and exploitation. Friends of Thai Daughters (FTD) started 20 years ago when its Maine founders were hiking in Thailand and came across a vacant school where 15 young, abandoned girls were trying to survive alone.  FTD (a 501(c)(3) organization) now provides three safe residences in northern Thailand for girls who have been orphaned or discarded. One of their members left money in her will to build two pickleball courts, but they needed professional instruction. YPA provided a grant to this nonprofit to bring in pickleball professionals to coach the girls.
